The love of a mother is like a rainbow;
Unique shades blended into one mesmeric light show.
Lips to lay a kiss goodnight;
Hands to tuck you in and hug you tight.
Eyes to spot a path gone wrong;
A rod to instill discipline lifelong.
A shoulder to cry on when storms arise;
A mouth and mind to give wise advice.
Willpower to work with the strength of seven;
Dreaming to see you soar to the heights of heaven.
For her child, her pleasure she denies;
A mother lives a life of loving sacrifice.
A poem dedicated to my mom, Eileen Soon, and written for a college Humanities class.
